In 2015, flooding along Fountain Creek caused serious damage in this section of the Creek - uprooting the vegetation and moving the path of the creek. CDOT did some emergency repair work to protect the bridge structure of US 47.
"When we finish, this area will be able to sustain a hundred year storm flow," said Larry Small, executive director of the Fountain Creek Watershed, Flood Control and Greenway District.
